Here are Jeffrey's basic criteria to consider an application to be a true SaaS product:
Here are the key attributes which I use as a checklist to determine how true a vendor’s SaaS offerings are,

·         Networked applications
·         Enhanced user experience
·         Subscription pricing
·         Real-time analytics
·         Continuous enhancements
·         Self-provisioned, dynamic toolkits
·         Multi-tenancy preferred, but not required

ThinkStrategies Interview (audio) - Jeffrey Kaplan
Earlier this week I talked with Jeffrey Kaplan, the company's founder, about the state of SaaS and Cloud computing strategies. I specifically asked Jeffrey to help me understand what critical factors make an application or service a SaaS environment rather than simply a hosted application rebranded as something else. Listen to Jeffrey's explanation, and see if you agree.
