Truck Platooning Enters Supply Chain

Although Autonomous trucks are making the news, it will be a long time before they impact the supply chain, reports Supply Chain Digest. What isn’t far off is platooning technology. Platoonin is a group of typically three trucks that travel together  (they do have drivers). The trailing two trucks automatically moving in tandem with the lead truck, this technique can save on gas mileage.

Hospitals Can Save Money in Supply Chain

According to Healthcare Finance, hospitals overspend $10 million dollars a year in their supply chain. Supply chain costs for hospitals are the second biggest expense, with labor being the largest cost, but improvements to their systems could save them $10 million a year on average.
